what is the summer bridge program?

The Stanton Summer Bridge program was developed 6 years ago as a means of providing a transitional interactive experience for all incoming freshmen enrolled at Stanton.  During each session students will meet their future teachers, current students and graduates and take part in a series of academic and extracurricular meetings that will truly prep them for Stanton Prep.

How much does it cost?

Bridge is free to all enrolled incoming freshmen.  It meets during two 1-week sessions.  Each session repeats the same content as the other -- allowing for flexibility in your summer plans.  Your student should only attend one of the two offered sessions.

What will my child have to bring?

The most important thing to bring is a sense of adventure!  Bridge will introduce your student to high school life and academics.  We will provide classroom resources, some great Stanton swag, and access to curricula materials.

Lunch will be sold each day and will items will cost between $2-$5.  Additional food will also be available for purchase -- and all proceeds will go to supporting the Stanton athletic department.

If your student has specific dietary needs and restrictions, it is recommended that your child brings their own lunch.

Why should my child attend bridge?

We encourage all new incoming students to attend.  Last year over 91% of incoming freshmen attended one of the sessions.

IB or Honors -- all students will be given a running start to the their first year of high school.  During Bridge we help students adjust to their new school, introduce their freshmen classes, develop and expand their tech and academic skills, and formally welcome them to the Stanton family.

The program has become an important milestone in each Stanton student's experience.  Much of the activities that occur during Bridge will be designed and/or include current Stanton students -- most of whom attended their own Bridge program as incoming freshmen.

The program is extremely popular for these current students -- and it is a testament to the overall positive experience that will hope to offer both yourself and your student.
